Sprites in Space

This week in our Cybersmart lesson we were working in Scratch Jnr again. Today we learned how to make the astronaut sprite look like us by inserting our face using the camera. We had to create our own alien using the paint editor. We also learned how to record our voices so we could make our sprites talk.

Then we put in the code blocks so they didn't talk at the same time and we used the motion code blocks to make the sprites move. We will carry on with this project next week so we can make the sprites do something together in space.

Here is Adele's work from today...

Sea Sprites

Today we were learning how to use Scratch Jnr on our iPads.
Scratch is a coding app that we can use to be creative.
Today we made an underwater scene and added sprites.
We had to make our sprite move in a square.
We had to test and debug a lot of times to get it right.
Some of us were able to make 2 sprites move and it looks like they are having a race.
Here are some screen recordings of your work...

Cybersmart Lesson

This week in our Cybersmart lesson with Mrs Torrie we were learning how to download Explain Everything projects
onto our iPad from the class site.
We did some leanring about the letter 'P', some dot-to-dot joining and following patterns.

Tuhi Mai Tuhi Atu

We looked at our blogging buddie's class blog today.
They are Rūma Pūkeko in Hokitika.
We looked at the map to find out where they live.
Here is the map showing Hokitika and Gisborne.
They are a long way apart and it would take a long time to drive there. You would need to get the ferry across Cook Strait.
Have you ever been to Hokitika?

Isla's Lockdown Hero

Isla created this in Explain Everything.
She created a medal for her Lockdown Hero.
Who is your hero?
What design would you use for your medal.
